We had to last minute find sleeping bags for our Big Bend trip, and Desert Sports had a wonderfully simple, affordable rental process. Their shop is very cool and they really seem like they know what they are doing! Would love to come back one day and do a trip through them.

None of the Youtubes do justice to the majesty of cliffs rising to 1500 feet to tower over your raft. Four of us went in early November and had just over the 500 cubic feet per second needed for the rafts (you can check the flow rate on the American Whitewater web page). Our guides Bobsky and Matthew were great... More

We are so happy that you enjoyed your river trip with Bobski and Matthew! Santa Elena is one of our favorite canyon trips! We are glad the Paco pads helped you get a good night's sleep. Not only are they comfy, but they are very durable, too. We hope to see you in the beautiful Big Bend in the future.... More

I booked a three day trip through the Boquillas Canyon with Desert Sports and the scenery, the guide, the food, and the experience was worth every penny. We started the trip from the Big Bend National Park's Rio Grande Village river access and three days later we were picked up at the La Linda area just past the Hallie Stillwell... More

Do you want the experience of a lifetime? Then book a rafting trip down the Rio Grande with Desert Sports! We put in near Lajitas, and exited at the Santa Elena River Canyon: a spectacular gorge with walls towering fifteen feet above us. We got lucky in that the area had a significant amount of rain in the previous days... More

We had brought our own Mountain bikes to the US to get some winter riding adventures in. We went into Desert Sports and they helped us pick a couple of rides, provided some maps and very useful insider knowledge to riding in the area, both technical tips and navigational hints. We also hired a Canadian for a day and they... More

We did the all-day float trip of Colorado Canyon on the Rio Grande and it was spectacular!! Travel time to put-in point was 45 minutes and the drive itself getting there was most scenic.......beautiful country! Hawks, quail, etc. along the way through Big Bend Ranch State Park. Our guide Rebecca was totally cool and a pleasure to be with. She... More

We did an overnight canoe trip through Temple Canyon for our girls weekend this May (Mother and 3 adult daughters). From the first phone call to schedule the trip to the ride back in the shuttle, Desert Sports was fantastic and went above and beyond. Our guide was enthusiastic, easy going, safe, and knowledgeable and made the experience incredible. We... More

We took a canoe trip with Desert Sports down the Rio Grand. Our guides, Rebecca and Tim, were extremely competent, cheerful and informative. The food was excellent. The equipment they provided was all in good shape. It couldn't have been a better trip.

We did a private 5 hour mountain bike tour on the lajitas loop with Jeff at Desert Sports and it was fantastic! Desert Sports actually made & maintain a lot of the trails around the lajitas property and they did a fantastic job. My partner was a first time mountain biker and this loop was perfect. Bikes are really good... More
