We were exploring southern Utah for the afternoon and this was our first stop from Page. The fossils and displays were fascinating and the rangers were friendly and informative. It gave us a great perspective when we were hiking in the area. The kids liked getting their passports stamped.

A great travel stop for some good education on the area. We got to chat with a local paleontologist who has discovered a variety of dinosaur that has now been named after him. He was engaging and friendly.....enjoyed his subject matter and made it fun to learn. Felt like we were talking to the paleontologist from "Jurassic Park". Real dinosaur... More

On a typical stop at a visitor center we ask for hiking suggestions and driving directions and then skedaddle. But on this occasion we walked into a Utah dinosaur mini-museum featuring giant skulls and a wall-filling mural. It also featured Merle Graffam on staff, he who discovered a certain Nothronychus and after whom that dinosaur is named. Merle is gracious,... More

Just popped in and saw dinosaur fossils that were found in the area. They are still finding bones and fossils throughout the Utah desert. Pretty cool, I thought!

On our way out of Page on the way to Bryce Canyon, we stopped in to see what they had as one of my daughters works at the Smithsonian and loves dinosaurs. While the center isn't large, it has some interesting exhibits. Like others have noted, we were fortunate that Merle Graffam was working that day. He is an amateur... More

This is a great little Visitor Center with quite a neat selection of dinosaur fossils and we happened to stop in while Merle Graffam was in, which was super interesting.. He had great stories and info about dinosaur digs he had personally been on and we learned dinosaurs had feathers.. I never knew that! There is a small bookstore, but... More

Good dinasaur exhibit. Surprisingly, Big Water is sort of the epic center of dinasaur exvacations these days. Resident expert there with lots of info. Fun for a short stop.

Adults and children - this is the place to stop for education on dinosaurs. Our group of six adults were mesmerized by Merle Graffam's talk on the discovery of dinosaurs in the Grand Staircase-Escalante area. Did you know that dinosaurs had feathers? Find out more if Merle happens to be at the center. Merle explains the mural of the Cretaceous... More
