One of my favorite places in the SouthWest. If you take cottonwood you need to watch the weather and road conditions, but often you can ride the rolde with an RV or a regular car. You see wilderness, nice rock formations and can go on short hikes, without anybody close to you. I love the place.

Paria Canyon Wilderness Area is close to Big Water, UTAH near Hwy 89 between Kanab, UT and Big Water, UT. The whole area is amazing with lots of multicolored sandstone formations and slot canyons.

Drive down a bumpy dirt road for about 8 miles to come to the trailhead called Wirepass. It is about a 2 mile easy hike one way to the slot canyons, and from there you can hike on as long as you wish. Very beautiful!

Man oh man, what a fantastic hike this is. If you are a fan of slot canyons this one will make your year. We accessed Buckskin Gultch by dropping in at the Wire trailhead. You hike about 3/4 of a mile and it starts to slot up, and you do the slot canyon for another 1/4 mile or so and... More

A guide, an off-road vehicle and the place to ourselves! What more can you want? The photo opportunities, the inside knowledge all made for an excellent, personalised visit!

We spent a night camped here before hiking Paria Canyon. There were trees to provide shade, grass for walking and playing, a nice bathroom (large and clean), and lots of space for RVs. They also have horseback trips (we just camped). There aren't many places to camp between Kanab and Page, and this place was attractive, with helpful and attentive... More

Amazing day hike. From the Wire Pass trailhead, 1:10 into Buckskin Gulch as far as the second water hole. The first we were able to cross on the rocks, but we couldn't get by the second and stay dry. 1:30 back to the trailhead. Slot canyon that has zig-zags, drops and tight narrows. Like nothing I've ever seen or done... More

This is a gorgeous area that really attracts photographers. The Wave and Buckskin Gulch are the most popular hikes in this area.
