Great history of the area, interactive displays, but it's all about the people who work there. They spent so much time with us. Obvious that they are passionate about where they live. Gave us fantastic recommendations about natural resources, roads to follow, and they led us to Escalante Outfitters which was an incredible find for lunch and dinner and provisions.

This appears to be a brand new interagency visitors center. Great place to collect information on the surrounding parks and national monuments. They have natural history displays, and an informative film to view. Friendly staff that can answer all you questions on attractions in the area and the parks. This is a great place to stop if you are traveling... More

Having so much choices on walks, we stopped there to ask the ranger;s advice and they certainly delivered. we followed their advice on a lesser known walk and ended up in a wonderful part of the Escalante range with no other soul for 3 hours walk. What a treat!

Great place to get maps and information about the Escalante National Monument (which is amazing). The best part for us was a free star-gazing talk given by one of the rangers on Sunday evening. He had several large telescopes, showed us Saturn (and its rings), incredible close-ups of the moon and talked us through constellations and their relation to our... More

Escalante Interagency Visitor Center is filled with information and exhibits about Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. They also now have a fairly new dinosaur head (cast), named Utahceratops gettyi, that was recently discovered in GSENM. This center is small, but has a movie center that shows interesting information about the monument and several displays and pictures of the area. They... More

Staff was super helpful and we learned a lot before driving through the Grand Staircase Escalante. It was a small center but with knowledgeable, welcoming staff who were proud of their National lands. There were interesting exhibits as well.

Once again we find ourselves taking scenic highways to parts unknown just to end up at a very good place. General parking was plentiful and the accessible slots were few. The parks department did a great job with this facility, which features exhibits from around the area and several millions of years spanned. This off the beaten path place has... More

We stopped in this inter-department agency to find a very friendly and helpful staff guide us to finding the areas we were seeking in the Escalante National Staircase Monument. The exhibits were small but interesting; A must stop for anyone visiting the area.

This is part of the BLM system with vital area info you can't find other places--slot canyon maps and photos, Burr road info, plus exhibits about the geology in the GSENM with microscopes with rock samples. (There are centers in Kanab, Cannonville, and Big Water--each covers a different theme--archaeology, geography and dinosaurs, respectively.) They have free pamphlets and more substantial... More

Very impressive Utah visitors center at the West end of Escalante, Utah. Had "racks" of information and books that you can buy. If you have time there is a theater you can sit and enjoy scenes of the surrounding areas. Very helpful employees will help with any questions you may have.
