Our much anticipated morning hike was delayed at different points due to unclear directions and signage on the location and then the hike itself ... tried to do prior research on the location and the hike and that was not completely clear either ... Started the hike and got into the archaelogical area where we ran into 2 different locals... More

Relatively easy and well-marked trail leads to petroglyphs on upper levels of river canyon walls. Please be considerate and don't deface! Truly amazing to see numbers of petroglyphs hundreds or thousands of years old carved into desert varnish on rock walls.

This is an easy Hike to see so many Petroglyphs. Note: There were several people with smaller children and while not a difficult hike they did not look like they enjoyed themselves. We enjoyed it very much. The Petroglyphs are so easy to see and the views are amazing.

Gravel trail to wonderful views. Early morning is best time to start. Bring a little water and camera.

The Outfitters Shop at Red Mountain Resort recommended this hike! It was just fantastic! There were so many ancient petroglyphs along the ridge line. We went below the rocks and there are tons. We were fascinated! Luckily we had the place to ourselves for most of the time, I don't know if that is usual. It is very exposed and... More

Beautiful view of the gorge with pictographs thrown in. Had it all to myself so it does not seem heavily trafficked

If you have visitors who have not seen petroglyphs, this is an easy hike, easily accessible off of Highway 91 to see a wide variety of petroglyphs! Whenever my family members or friends come to visit me, we have to walk to the petroglyphs. My grandkids like to put their hands on the hand prints. It's never too crowded and... More

An easy 20-minute hike up a gentle trail will take you to an amazing number of petroglyphs at the top of a cliff overlooking the Santa Clara River; as a bonus the view is expansive. If you can walk a half-mile up a ramp you can get to them. Many are on the tops of flat rocks and it is... More

When you reach the top of the trail and face out over the Valley you will see a very small number of Petroglyphs. You need to find a safe place to climb/walk down about 15 feet to another rough trail that runs along just under the summit. Here you will see the best and greatest number of Petroglyphs. This is...
