Travelled a lot to the States, but this is still one of the best views. Don't stay at the entrance, but drive the valley loop (preferable with a 4WD). This is the view from the movies!!

Monument Valley Tribal Park. This is part of the Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation. Very interesting and well preserved. As of now it's in with my favorites including Stonehenge, England and Munich, Germany. It's that interesting and its something to see if you in that...More

It was beautiful. The John Wayne thing at 3 Sisters was cheesy. But we loved it. We have a Honda Ridgeline and never would have driven our car down there. So rough and so much sand...

Arrived to some confusion as to whose tour we were supposed to be taking; after about 30 minutes they straightened it out. We ended up in a closed vehicle, just us and the driver, which was good given the amt of dust that kicks up...More

The entrance fee was $20, which wasn't the worst fee considering the beauty of the area so we were okay with that. We arrived quite late in the afternoon and could easily see that it had been quite a busy day. The bins were overfilling,...More

While this was breathtaking, I would suggest either taking a jeep tour or owning a SUV truck. Our SUV rental was barely making it through the park...and once you turn the corner there's no Turing around. Beware if you do take the jeep tour, use...More

My husband and I had been looking so forward to our trip to Monument Valley, and the views were beautiful. However, the road was HORRIBLE around the Monument Valley Road. We were unaware of the guided tour services, so off we went on our anticipated...More

We drove through Monument Valley as part of our Grand Circle driving vacation. It was on our leg between Capital Reef and the Grand Canyon. Spent the night in Mexican Hat and drove through Monument Valley in the morning. Take your time and stop at...More

Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park offers some amazing views of sandstone buttes created millions of years ago by a receding sea and natural erosion. Take a motor tour offered by local Navajo for the best photo ops and a closeup look at the many rock...More

We signed up the tour on site in the view hotel parking lot tour booth. You could negotiate the price with the booth a little. They don't have price posted on the sign. They gave me the price more than I saw in TripAdvisor, and...More

You don't have many easy options here. You can fly from SFO to either Phoenix (cheaper), or Flagstaff (closer) and then drive to Monument Valley. 300+ miles from Phoenix, 180 from Flagstaff. From Tombstone, you have a long... More
What tour company or guides are recommended for Monument Valley, AZ side? Any stops included? We plan to stay a few days at the Grand Canyon and a few days in Flagstaff. Would love a cultural and scenic Navajo Nation tour for adult family of 3. Is it recommended to use a rental vehicle self-guided tour or take a guided tour? Thanks.

I have Verizon and as long as I was not in a canyon, it worked fine. It definitely worked at the pool.
