Converted from the Central Vermont Railway to a bike path in the 1970s, this easy trail crosses through beaches and parks and offers great views of Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks and the city.

Burlington is a very bike friendly city with excellent bike trails that include The Burlington Bike Path and the Champlain bike path. A highlight is the causeway ride that includes a bike ferry to get to South Hero.

We did more than 30 km until the path ended in the water , beautiful ride, even on the part of the trail that was unpaved, still wonderful and challenging

We rented bikes from the local non-profit and spent ~3 hours riding the bike trail and enjoying the parks and photo opportunities. An easy ride, well maintained with lots to do.

Staying at the Hotel Vermont they have bikes for free for 2 hours. After check in we rode north eventually crossing the Winooski River. It was a beautiful ride mostly in the woods, but with some beautiful views of Lake Champlain

Very beautiful attraction. We rented the bike there and me, my wife and my kid enjoyed a lot. Along the route there are many other attractions for kids and for family.

How long would a bike ride for a family of 4 be from the bike rental in Burlington Local Motion store to all the way to the end of the causeway and back be? I need to properly plan my day. Thank you :)

Hi! Well, it's hard to know, w/o knowing the age of your kids and how fast/slow you bike. You should know that the bike path goes by North Beach (with toilets, a snack bar (in season), a nice playground and a lovely sandy... More
