Nice park atmosphere and good to visit whether open or closed for the season. Beautiful scenery and level walk experience.

When you first arrive at the Ethan Allen Homestead by car, you enter the visitors center, which consists of a gift shop and a movie theater designed to look like a 1700's tavern. In the movie theater, they play a video about Ethan Allen. The video is kind of hokey (the video is set in the early 1800's, with characters... More

OK, attracted by the fabulous Fall color, but this tour was perhaps the best surprise of a ten day driving tour through Vermont and New York State. The man himself is well explained in a video before the tour - and is quite an enigma. I would wager that most people fail to pre-undertand that Vermont was NOT an original... More

I have always been fascinated by Ethan Allen's larger-than-life and often bombastic personality, and so it was reassuring to find a more quiet and centered aspect of this remarkable historic figure in this unassuming home. Even the very descriptions of Allen's life that one finds in Vermont Travel Guides make one want to learn more about legend whose heroic statue... More

If you are a history buff's stop. Learn about a multifaceted American War of Independence hero. He was a character.

Our docent was one of the members of the board of directors. Very knowledgable and full of stories to bring Ethan Allen and his era to life. I now want to read the books to learn more ... Well worth the side trip.

Wanted to see it since we were visiting in the area. Our guide was very helpful in explaining the history of the place and about the Allen Brothers. Not a must see place but worth 30 minutes or so

As a stranger to the area who had never heard of Ethan Allen this was a very interesting experience. The knowledgeable guide first gave us a talk about Ethan and the part he played in the history of Vermont. We were then taken to the small homestead which he lived in briefly with his family and servants - 10 people... More

There's not much here but the tours are engaging and there's so much history! There's a dress up area for kids and nice walking trail to the homestead. People were also friendly.
