It's been nearly fourth years since I last visited Magic Mountain. My buddy and I decided to check it out given the recent snow dumping. We were blown away. Challenging terrain and tree skiing that rivals Stowe, Sugarbush, and Jay on a smaller scale. Yeah, no high speed chairlifts or gondolas but perhaps that's why this place remains unpretentious with... More

This one is truly special. In a world of dime-a-dozen, over-developed, pretentious ski resorts, Magic has managed to maintain its character as a true skier’s mountain, delivering challenging terrain at a tremendous value (Throwback Thursdays Rule!). Clanking through the lodge, riding leisurely up the Red Line, and wizarding down the slopes, history is omnipresent. There's no place in southern Vermont... More

It had been 35 years since my last visit, and a lot of history for Magic Mountain. It snowed the whole day as we managed 10 runs between 8:40am and 2:30pm, stopping just to eat at 11am. The GPS said 17 miles and some of that might have been that we went by the trail map and took a left... More

great music festival in a beautiful environment. Shuttle buses were efficient from the parking to the event. Organized and clean. Wonderful music.

I've skied all over Vermont, the toughest it's has to offer. Magic is right there and then some. Steeps, bumps, drops, tight pine trees, and plenty of rugged terrain features. If you only ski groomers don't waste your time, because that isn't what magic is about. Go when there's a storm and you will always return. The vibe is like... More

4 trails open this weekend. 4 and one slow lift and no tubbing and rope pull for the kids and almost no real snow. Almost no staff around 65 dollar lift tickets for 4 trails!

I skied this mountain as a kid/teenager at least 300+ days but hadn't been back in 36 years. It was great to return this year with my 16 year old son who has the skiing gene just like me. Since I left I have skied almost all the Vermont resorts (got to get to Jay Peak only), NH, literally all... More

We drove 3.5 hours to get to Magic Mountain based on the website information that said tubing was open until 7pm on Sunday. We arrived around 4:00pm. When we went to get our lift tickets, there was noone in sight. After looking around for a bit, we found an employee in the ski school who tried to help us. The... More

When I was looking for a place to get a lessons for my kids, I researched the best teacher to child ratio. Magic had it. After skiing/boarding for a day, I realized I made the right decision. We went over to another mountain for a day and my kids all asked to go back to Magic. The staff made them... More
