Went to the park after a light dusting of snowfall in December. Obviously December is not the ideal time to take a hike, but we had no complaints about the beautiful and peaceful tranquility. The air was crisp and clean and the other nature-loving hikers were friendly. The snow actually added an ambiance that made for a distinctly "Vermont" feel.

Nice respite in the heart of a bustling city. Many trails to wonder thru. The hill top has a CCC fire tire made of stone. On a clear day you can see Camels Hump.Picnic tables around top and the dogs ran free. Lovely atmosphere, easy walk.

We live in California. The state capitol of Vermont is so different from California's. You have to see the capitol building at night - it's lit up beautifully!

I have lived in Montpelier most of my life and enjoy every minute in Hubbard park. From casual walks to running trails, this park is truly a gem. Lots of walking/running/biking trails to activity shelters and there is always the amazing tower. A must see.

A great place to stretch your legs while traveling. A quick hike to the top rewarded with an observatory tower from the early 1900s that you can climb. Worth it if you've been cooped up in a car and have an extra hour to kill. Amazing views at the tower's top!

This is not really what you think of as an urban park. It is a densely wooded hill with hiking trails. The trails are quite steep. Parking is iffy and not easily accessed. We choose to park at Winter Street entrance and it is a climb with a vehicle before you reach and area to park. Very few parking spaces... More

Our plan was to eat a picnic lunch at Hubbard Park and then climb the tower. We did not know that you can't actually park there. It is located at the top of a steep hill. In order to get there, you park at the bottom of the hill and hike up a very steep road just to enter the... More

I went here yesterday to explore at lunch. It was nice to run around for the trials. The tower is pretty cool. It is hilly for sure if you want to walk. I walk from the state house to the tower. Will go here again for sure.

Was looking at things to do in Montpelier other that eat, drink, or shop. Saw this park and decided to check it out. It is not well marked on maps or directions for the Garmin except by street names. I entered from the west side (off of Elm Street) and drove all the roads. Looked like a good spot to... More
