Can't rush through this museum. Many buildings. There is a shuttle route but most people walk from building to building. This all takes time so give it 3 hours or more. Visit round Shaker barn and the Ticonderoga ship while you are still fresh. If...More

Shelburne Museum is a great family outing. The circus parade is amazing. The children were enamored by the wood carved animals and the wooden carousel. The adults had a nostalgic look at what the circus was in the past as Barnum and Bailey close their...More

This was a total surprise. It reminded us of a combination of Williamsburg and House on the Rock. The period homes and the random collections of historical items. There was everything from art galleries, a light house, the steam boat Ticonderoga and so much more.

After a delightful ferry boat crossing from Essex, NY to Charlotte, VT., we made our way the short distance to Shelburne, expecting to have plenty of daylight viewing at the museum. To our chagrin, we were greeted with the information that the museum would be...More

I am going as part of a group of relatives. I love museums and historical recreations, but am somewhat challenged for walking great distances. Are there places to sit and rest throughout the park? Are there water fountains, or should I bring bottled water which makes for extra weight? Thanks!

They have a shuttle, a large covered vehicle that runs a regular circuit around the property so you can get to each of the areas without excessive walking. I would bring a water bottle if it is warm. You can stay at any of... More

I don't know but they are very easy going so just give them a call. Make sure you differentiate between the Farm and the Museum as they are two distinct organizations.

Much of the museum is in separate buildings so if you require assistance you should call the museum and ask if they have wheelchairs and how much of the museum is accessible via wheelchair
