The view from the top was worth the overpriced Auto Toll and the bumpy, dusty drive. But upon arrival, the trees and portable toilets in the parking lot block the scenery. You need to make a ten-minute hike through the woods over rocky terrain and...More

I have skied Toll Road on Mt. Mansfield many times but this is the first time I've driven up. Great experience and fantastic views. It gave me a chance to show my wife (a non skier) what she's been missing.

You need to be in good shape to hike up to the top of the mountain. Great views to be had even if you do not walk all the way up. The drive up the mountain is very interesting. Not recommended if it is raining.

Call Stowe Area Association. They should know the answer or, if not, be able to give you a number to call. Have fun.

The gondola is big enough to put a small collapsible stroller in with a couple of people. Once half way up the mountain (when the gondola stops) you can get out and walk around a bit. The views are awesome, and there is a... More
