The drive is crazy! Up, up, winding, up! I almost turned around and went back. So glad I did not and mustered courage from this Florida girl! Once at the top there is parking and portable toilets, that's really all. Short walk to amazingness! If...More

While very pricey, the mostly gravel toll road is absolutely indispensable in getting you near, but not at, the top of Mount Mansfield. There is a two mile, very difficult, hike waiting for you at the top parking lot to get you to the actual...More

Hiking from base to face of Mount Mansfield is difficult, especially if you have issues with steep edges. Taking toll road lets you see views to east and west. Easier hike to the forehead, getting to chin is difficult for those with problems with steep...More

Unless the leaves are turning, I don't think this drive is worth the cost. The roads are not totally paved and the drive isn't that picturesque. There are plenty of pretty drives and sights in the area that are free.

Most of the ride is in the trees without a good view; however, there are two or three spots with an excellent view. Also did Stowe Gondola ride and felt the view was better from the Mountain road. The drive is not for nervous drivers,...More

We did this the first week of October and the fall colors were beautiful. We were on a tight schedule and didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked at the top but it was still worth it. It takes about...More

If you visit the area you should see it. Not Mount Washington, but it is the highest mountain in Vermont. Views were quite spectacular especially during peak foliage!!

We did this fun drive up the mountains on a Friday afternoon. the road up is narrow, unpaved and very exciting and fun to drive. The views are very cool. However, we only enjoyed half the views because on our way up it started rainy...More

This is a must do if you like beautiful views, hiking, and driving on narrow mountain roads! We found it interesting and exciting. Driving up seems fairly straightforward until the road begins to narrow and the sharply angled cut-backs get tighter and steeper! There were...More
