The road is mostly gravel with some rocks 3 inches in diameter. Must be careful at hair pin turns if someone coming in opposite direction. Not a scary drive like Mt Washington. At top, a 10 minute easy walk brings you to a great view...More

We did not go on the Toll Road as it was too expensive considering we were driving our own car up the mountain with the driver and three passengers.

We took the toll road up the mountain and then hiked the 1.4 miles along the ridgeline to the summit. It was a rocky hike and windy. My 6 and 8 year olds loved it, though they were a little worn out on the way...More

So let me get this out of the way - great views. END. We paid $42.00 for three people in an SUV - steep, along with the terrain. The gravel road which was described by the attendant as “well-maintained” is anything but -if you have...More

The drive is crazy! Up, up, winding, up! I almost turned around and went back. So glad I did not and mustered courage from this Florida girl! Once at the top there is parking and portable toilets, that's really all. Short walk to amazingness! If...More

While very pricey, the mostly gravel toll road is absolutely indispensable in getting you near, but not at, the top of Mount Mansfield. There is a two mile, very difficult, hike waiting for you at the top parking lot to get you to the actual...More
