Third time (over several decades) was the charm seeing Jesus Christ Superstar. My wife and I agreed this was easily the best production of it we'd seen since it's introduction in the 70s. The merging of very high performance values plus an approximately 10-row 2-aisle proscenium theatre made for an intense, high energy, impactful production. The actor/singers used small very... More

Saw Jesus Christ Superstar while on vacation in Stowe and it was very good. A complex musical production to reproduce, but the Stowe Theater Guild did a really great job. Perfect night out to complement our week.

The cast was enthusiastic and talented. The setting was idyllic- set in the sweet little town of Stowe, with ample restaurants and bars nearby for pre-show dinner/drinks. And walking into the town hall, and up the old stairs, to enjoy a show in a room setup with chairs-- really fantastic. Felt like an episode of Gilmore Girls or Newhart- small... More

What a nice venue, the theater is in the city Hall building in central which is a beautiful wood rich environment. The upstairs is the theater, they use very comfortable free standing chairs that are a wider seat with good cushioning (I think the quality of the seating is important). The production aspect of the play was very smooth and... More

We saw Pirates of Penzance. It was immensely enjoyable. Sometimes, with "small town" theatre you take your chances on the quality; and we were prepared to be indulgent. But this performance was totally professional and competent. We will definitely return.

We were in Stowe overnight & saw that The Secret Garden was playing & decided to see it. It was a delightful show. The cast did a good job in portraying one of my favorite books in a musical way. The 10 year old, Mary had great stage presence & everyone seemed to be enjoying the presentation. With a minimal... More

We did the cultural thing and stopped by to catch the show. We were blown away at the professionalism of this production. It was incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we've been talking about it ever since.

If you are vacationing in Stowe and want to feel part of the community, the Theatre Guild puts on a quality production. The theatre is housed in the historic Town Hall Theatre right in the middle of downtown. The 10 year old currently playing the lead in The Secret Garden does a fantastic job and has a great future in... More

I was thrilled that a Broadway musical was playing while I was in town. Only $20 - comfortable seats - and so much talent on stage! If you are in Stowe - check out what is playing at the Stowe Theatre Guild!

This was my second time going to a play in this historical building. Very resonable price as well as the treats that were sold, Seats were comfortable too. Dress in comfortable & cool clothes because the room tends to get a little warm. BUT, Please don't let that discourage you because the plays are enjoyable,
