Great mountain for family -- but needs to work on customer service, especially ski school

The mountain is a gem for family skiing - varied terrain but not so big that groups can't easily find each other. I knew to expect a modest (not too-developed) mountain so I appreciated it's straightforward New England charm and low key family fun. However, I was there during a slow week and was surprised to find some staff already... More

Sugarbush is my favorite east coast resort. It's well maintained, the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere of the mountain is great, and they do a great job keeping everything going well when it is busy- although I find it to be a quieter mountain than others. When there is good snow, they don't groom every trail and... More

Sugarbush is filled with friendly wonder Vermont staff, new nice buildings, and great trails. I wouldn't recommend this mountain for a beginner, there isn't too much easy terrain, but for anyone from the intermediate to the advanced this is it. Sugarbush offers great deals for season passes for 20 year olds, and now they have a skinny pancake! Rock on... More

Rock on Kelsey! Thank you for your great review. As a note to your beginner terrain comment, we do have several areas designated for beginners as well as a Ski & Ride School dedicated to teaching all levels, especially beginners. We hope to see you back soon. Thanks, John More

Sugarbush is not a cheap mountain to ski, stay or eat, but I would make the argument that the price is worth it. Between Mount Ellen and Lincoln Peak, there are lots of options for all levels of skiers. Easy beginner areas, groomed blue squares, more challenging black diamonds, moguls, glades and even a fully ungroomed peak (Castlerock) are all... More

Went with a group of friends, and this is a huge place, really two resorts in one. Tons of great long winding trails, challenging off-trail experiences and a great little village at the base, definitely worth the trip.

Sugarbush is in the Mad River Valley and one of the most beautiful of ski areas. Wide variety of terrain. Nice lodges and they do a good job making snow.

My family and I came here to ski during Christmas. We did not get much skiing terrain because there were only 6 trails open because they could not make snow. But it was not bad and the snow that was there was not bad and we did not mind it. We Hope to come to Sugarbush again soon!

Thank you for your review. It was certainly a tough Christmas, terrain-wise, but we've been 100% more than any other major East Coast resort this year. I'd encourage you to come back when we have more terrain open! John More

Loved this resort! The extras such as the sugar shuttle and the extra hospitality staff milling around to help were such a nice touch - especially Diana from Luray, VA who sought us out to update us on conditions. If only those conditions were better, this would have been an excellent trip. Next time we'll try not to pick the... More

Sugar has the old & new style of a relaxing ski vacation from it all. Real fireplaces, great romantic restaurants with all levels of skiing on the mountians in one place. Love it!

We enjoyed two nights at this wonderful place. Best towels we have ever had at a hotel. Bed was super comfy. Pool was heated and kids swam for hours, even in the cold. We had no idea you could do so many things at a ski resort without snow. We are definitely saving our pennies so we can go again.... More
