Great expectations; greatly disappointed. A disjointed, random collection of junk. I suppose one person's junk is another person's museum. Dimly lit; hard to read display cards (which didn't seem to relate to the exhibit near by). Found a card for relics, but the Elvis nail clippings were nowhere to be found; neither was a live person to help with finding... More

I can't say enough about this dark treasure of the valley. Even Elvis's toenails. Not kidding. Ever wonder what a 10 year old happy meal looks like? How about a thousand TNT shoes or a rabbit with wings...I could go on...But you have to see for yourself.

This is a ONE OF A KIND museum. I have NEVER seen anything like it. Lots of strange and unique pieces. My friend and I were traveling back from Stowe and I went outta my way to stop here and glad we did. I just wish the light was a little brighter and the place was a little bigger. Go... More

Many people come to New England in search of quaint but if you prefer one-of-a-kind quirky then you'll enjoy the Main Street Museum. The pseudo religious plastic "Virginasaurus" may be my favorite. I hope that they are still selling them in the "gift shop". It's the perfect gift for any recovering Catholics in your life. The hours are a bit... More

From the moment I walked in the door I became an instant fan of this quirky museum. Filled with collections of odd things among them curio cabinets filled with "round things" or tangled things, a thrilling collection of taxidermy, taxidermy dioramas like you've never seen before, One of my faves,a whole deer with little teeny plastic antlered deer standing near... Artist David Fairbanks Ford bought the old fire station from the town and turned it into a museum of oddities and curiosities. Almost impossible to accurately describe, this place needs to be experienced. They often have live music here during First Fridays.

If you are looking for one of a kind museum this is the right place for you. It is very tiny and there is no fee to get in. Before you go inside prepare yourself this is a very strange but interesting museum. If you are the right type of person you will enjoy this museum.

It's certainly NOT 'average'. I can't say it's 'very good' either but there's not a bubble that says 'VERY STRANGE' or 'MUST SEE IF YOURE NOT FAINT OF HEART' This is the strangest museum I have ever entered! Some displays are quite grisly, some inane, some arcane. Definitely a unique collection! It was like watching a train wreck! Wow!
