You get to taste a large number of wines, which are off good quality. However the tasting room reminds me of Costco and people going from one sample cart to another. Chaos cancels out upscale decor in tasting room.

We went to see the ruins, did not do the wine tasting so I don't know anything about that aspect. The ruins were interesting and its a good place to sit and relax on a nice day. Definitely worth the drive.

And it was well worth it. Great property, interesting history and the best VA wine!!! I highly recommend the Library tasting.

The vineyard is well kept and maintained and the owners did not tear down the old mansion ruins. At the time of our visit, the mansion was overgrown, but some of the palatial brick walls still stood.

Went primarily for lunch but enjoyed a drink in the Library and views of the vineyard. Staff in the tasting room very helpful as we were splitting purchasing a case of wine between the Library and Tasting room offerings.

We found this place on our drive to Charlottesville and glad we stopped. For $7 we got to taste about 12 wines ( could have been more- we skipped the dessert wines ) and got a souvenir glass. The variety of wines they make is...More

We did the library tasting, which we thought would be phenomenal - but sadly, it was just so,so. We were very impressed with the beautiful landscape and could have sit there all day sipping wine. However, the tasting itself consisted of 6 pours for each...More

We didn't have lunch there but definitely call ahead. They have limited seating.
