Founded in 2000, Veramar Vineyard was one of the first successful wineries in the northern Shenandoah Valley. The vineyard is run by James and Della Bogaty, who were original members of the Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail. Justin, their son, is the winemaker. He is a graduate of VMI and has a certificate of oenology from UC Davis. Our wine is internationally-acclaimed, and is made at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We weren't anticipating on visiting Veramar Vineyard that day but after visiting their sister winery, Bogati Bodega and winery about 7 miles east and having enjoyed their wines, we received tickets for a discounted tasting and could not resist because we just had to check out Veramar Vineyard. Veramar Vineyard is indeed more scenic and home to strolling vineyards where... More

The wine tasting was tasty with some pretty good wines. They also had a delicious mulled wine. They had some fresh bread that was quite tasty though the cheese we ordered was just kerrygold cheddar from the grocery store rather than anything local or home made. The location is quite pretty.

Stopped by here after getting our Christmas tree to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. The location is great and very easy to get to from the main road. The staff was awesome, super knowledgeable about their wines, and genuinely enjoyed what they were doing. After doing a tasting, my wife and I selected our favorite, ordered some cheese and... More

This winery has been around for a long time. Their wines show this. They were OK, not all to my liking. They were short staffed and our service was spotty. The room was cute. Outside was OK. Decent visit.

I enjoyed a tasting here in the past. However, on my way back from North Carolina to Virginia, I went out of my way to purchase the wine I liked. I squeaked in through pouring rain at 4:54 to be told that they had already closed the register and could not sell me any wine. I realize people want to... More

We were in the area for a casual but romantic weekend getaway. The hospitality of the winery staff was superb. Beautiful view and great space! Parking was easy, wine was tasty and people are nice! I would come back if I were in the Berryville area again.

Our wine tasting guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their wines - could explain the subtleties of each, and was unafraid to give her personal preferences. Of the 9-10 we tasted, I only found one that I didn't care for. Prices are reasonable for a small winery - they seem willing to experiment w different possibilities.

I've been here twice, once with a large group for my cousin's birthday, and once with just my boyfriend for a private tasting. Both experiences have been excellent. I enjoyed working with both staff members from each visit. The wine is excellent and so is the view. You can bring in your own food too so you can eat outside... More

We absolutely loved the Veramar Vineyard. The staff is very friendly and the food is quite tasty and quick to come out. We especially lived the bread and the gouda. But on top of all that are the delicious wines, the stunning view and the lack of crowds. If you were thinking about visiting a neighboring winery, I would highly... More

We've gone there for several years. They know what they are doing--their wine is well crafted! And it is in a very pretty area down a road for about a mile off Route 7. They also have a store at High Hill on Route 7 that sells more Argentine type wines.
