Many have called this museum a gem. And indeed it is! Situated on a hill not far from the Manassas battlefield, both the location and the building itself are storied. Union troops were encamped nearby during the Civil war, and some stones in the building were original stones in the famous Four Chimney’s house that served as the headquarters of... More

Step into history by visiting this gem of a museum. Volunteer historians keep it open to the public. My daughter and I visited recently. We both were impressed with the sampling of artifacts on display. The Hanging Tree, McClellan saddles, weaponry, uniforms, a library of books, and numerous exhibits are just some of the collection. This is a small museum... More

This is a great little museum packed with civil war artifacts associated with Confederate General JEB Stuart and Colonel John Mosby. Mosby, who initially served under Stuart, formed an independent command in late December 1862. He would spend the next two and a half years attacking Union troops in Northern Virginia in what became known as Mosby's Confederacy. His objective... More

This small museum is devoted to the Stuart - Mosby cavalry in the Civil War. It has a lot of artifacts in a small space in historic Centreville, Virginia. Unfortunately, it is poorly marked and difficult to find, even though it is a stone's throw from I-66. Program 13938 Braddock Road, Centreville, VA, in your GPS and enjoy the trip.

A little hard to find, get out your GPS, and hours are limited. Volunteer staff very knowledgeable and talkative. If you are a Jeb Stuart or Mosby fan make an effort to get here. Lots of artifacts jammed into a small room.

I've been living in Centreville for about 4 years and didn't even know this place existed until about two weeks ago when I saw it while out on a walk. The museum is small, but it's in a historical building. There are a few display cases with artifacts relating to cavalry in the Civil War. There have guns, belts, bullets... More
