It's a bit of a schlep from DC, but well worth it. $15 for parking is a bit steep, but the museum itself is free. Excellent selection of airplanes, rockets, and other artifacts. Especially enjoyed being able to walk underneath part of the space shuttle. Probably our favorite part is the SR-71 Blackbird that greets you as you enter the... More

If you or your little one is interested in air and space this is definitely a place to start from the Wright brothers to most current military striker plane. Bring the little ones here to let their imagination run wild

By far one of the best parts of the Smithsonian Institute. Across the cieling, planes were suspeneded by wire along with exhibits along the floor. Not to far from D.C.

I am an aviation enthusiast so the visit to the museum was a must for me. In my opinion, after the visit, it is great for all. The real Discovery space shuttle on display is indeed magnificent and let’s you appreciate it’s true dimensions and power. There are free guided tours and the hangar is full with interesting aircraft –... More

This place is incredible. It's much bigger and more interesting that I thought it would be. I think we spent about 4 hours there and I thought we would only spend maybe 2 hours. To get in the parking lot it's $15 a car. There's tons of parking. We went on a Sunday and the parking lot was barely half... More

This is a MUST VISIT with such an amazing and historical collection of so many aircraft. We have gone several times and also attended holiday parties where the facility was ours for the evening. Plan several hours for the visit. Also, check out the IMAX movies that may be running. Hook up w/a tour guide because you get such great... More

This is an awesome place to visit. There you can see aircrafts from all the times and several famous like Enola Gay. The Discovery is there. There is a concorde too. The planes used on the second war, satellites and a blackbird! Amazing!

I rank this museum among the top aviation museums in the US as a general interest museum. As a retired US Air Force officer and pilot who has studied aircraft all his life, I was amazed at the scope, quantity and quality of the displays. The museum traces the history of aircraft development in both the civilian and military arenas.... More

I'd go every day. So much to see, so much history. Dreams are born there too. Great IMAX theather. Take the kids, Grandma, and anyone who's a pilot or has interest in aviation or rocketry.

The museum has so much to see that you'll be walking around for hours. It's ALL planes though, so if you're not enthusiastic about air and space, then you might find this boring. The highlight is to see the space shuttle. Recommend a trip to the observation tower to see the airport. The museum is free but if you arrive... More
