Fun shops and restaurants

Although smaller than I anticipated, parking was easy (garage) and we enjoyed the afternoon with lunch and a visit to the chocolate shop! I'll go back next time I am in town.

We visited the downtown mall area on a nice sunny afternoon. Plenty of parking in the garage. Nice shops and restaurants; although many were closed on Sunday. We also saw the freedom of speech wall.

The Downtown Mall is a fabulous place. Lots of outdoor cafes, locally owned shops, etc. Beautifful trees line the middle. You can't go wrong.

This be a fun street for walking, sitting, dining, window shopping, and checking out pretty college girls in their summer clothing. Gets pretty hot in the summer. I'm Alzor Scimitoth.

We decided to do a quick detour on our way back from North Carolina and stopped in Charlottesville for a quick bite to eat. The Downtown Mall was absolutely charming. Great for a nice quick afternoon stroll and sightseeing. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and ice cream shops along the mall to satisfy everyone.

A great place to chill out with good food, lively bars, alfresco dining and unique shopping sprinkled throughout a mixture of preserved and modern buildings. Treat yourself to a gelato, sweet tea or martini, kick back and relax. With a skating rink at one end and an outdoor entertainment venue on the other, who can complain?

The Downtown Mall is a great place to take a simple walk with your dog, or to grab a bite to eat. Lots of stores to shop in, as well as conveniently located.

I really enjoy outdoor malls. There are lots of things to see and do. Lots of restaurants and good shops (though I feel they could do a bit better on the shops). And I definitely think you should go here if you are in Charlottesville, but the amount of smokers made it less than enjoyable.

Shops, restaurants, bars and theaters make up a delightful mall along a fully restored street in east Charlottesville. It has become a vibrant center of activity for both locals and tourists who find the setting inviting and invigorating. There are great choices for every member of the family throughout the mall. Street vendors and entertainers add to the ambience of... More

Wear appropriate weather clothes and good walking shoes because you will not want to miss a single shop! The brick walk middle section has great booths too. During this Christmas season it was quite a find for many Christmas gifts. My favorite, Ten Thousand Villages! Plan to have lunch or dinner there too because there are plenty of good places... More
