Hmmmm. I guess this is cute but the Charlottesville downtown mall is probably best when people are partying at night. During the day, it’s a little sad. One too many tattooed fake blinds dancing to a bad drum circle, bad antique shops and nothing to...More

We visited over Spring Break 2017 with our tween daughters and almost one year old. We first visited for dinner on a Sunday evening. There were very few family friendly food options and most of the stores were closed. We visited again on a weekday...More

I expected a lot more from Charlottesville's Historic Downtown Mall area. It was very small and did have some cool stores, but also some that were empty. I thought we would spend more time walking through the downtown, but it was definitely a one and...More

Nice outdoor mall with many interesting shops offering in depth artifacts of whatever the shop advertises. We especially enjoyed the antique shops.

I reviewed the Mall almost 2 years ago and gave it 4 stars. It continues to have excellent restaurants but, as others have stated, has now become a haven for panhandlers, who have no problem with expletives if you don't contribute. I saw the very...More

A great place to hang out, especially if you like bookshops. My favorite was Blue Whale Books, where I found a compact OED for $45! (Blue Whale does have a step-free entrance around the side, and lots of room for a wheelchair to navigate.)

In my experience, many outdoor eating places may allow dogs. As for stores, we didn't have our dog with us, but as we travel, we find that more and more stores do allow dogs (except food stores).
