We stopped to see the trains as it looked interesting from the street. Really glad we did. Beautiful displays in the original depot. Great tour through the old restored trains in the yard. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff made this a fun side trip. Reminded me of riding the B&O trains to Ohio each summer to visit family.

A very nice small railroad museum. The staff is friendly and helpful. The whole place is family friendly. You don’t have to be a train geek to enjoy your visit. Some of the smaller exhibits are the most unusual and the most fun. There are two BIG old time train whistles you can blow. There is a double semaphore stand... More

This was a great little museum with lots of information about the Chesapeake/Ohio RR. Has a scalerailroad running inside the building and a small train that will run around the yard outside. You can learn about the construction of the line and then climb onto most of the trains in the yard. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Very... More

After this stop we really would love to travel by rail.... Especially if we could go back in time. These people have done a great job so far with the museum! And with more cars there waiting for refurbishment there will be even more to see later. Clifton Forge is a must see gem in Virginia.

Grandsons and myself so enjoy the tours back to the time when Clifton Forge was a booming township. Love the stories and train cars...well worth the time...

I am a member of this museum even though I live in Michigan. So my wife and I checked out this place when we went through Clifton Forge Virginia. I liked the museum overall. It is small and still under development. They have train cars, cabooses, and the steam engine 614 you can go through. There is a small scale... More

Walked through a 1940s vintage train, with dining car, passenger car, engine and caboose. Train is cosmetically restored and may be restored to run at a future date.

Great mini train ride and perfect for visiting the inside of the old trains. Gift shop was well-stocked, especially for cat-lovers (the train mascot). Informative tour guide

Very nice place for kids who love trains and for grownups who love trains. The staff there are very nice and helpful. They treated our son like he was a V.I.P. The whole time we were there. It was a rainy/dreary day while we were there; however, in between, the rain showers, they fired up the mini outside train and... More
