Buckroe Beach area is over-run with rabid raccoons. Avoid this area at all cost. Plenty of safer places to spend your time and money.

My wife and I went to Buckroe Beach to walk our dog on the boardwalk and park. Disappointed signs in park and on boardwalk no dogs allowed.

I visited this beach and was able to relax and enjoy a pretty day at the beach. The beach was clean and the view of the bay was spectacular!!

Avoid this place. It is in one of the worst places in Virginia. It has been overtaken by thugs and bullies and has actually been on the news channels as a place that is not under the control of law enforcement.

Great alternate beach to Virginia Beach. Big pavilion, playground and restrooms. Life guard stations and a pier. Pay Fishing pier down a bit from the public beach. Lots of parking. Good family beach.

There are swimming areas, a play ground, fishing pier and bathroom and showers. Not too crowded which is nice if you want to visit the ocean without the crowd. In process of building another pier

They are a few miles apart, so by car would take about 5-6 minutes. There are smaller beaches right at Fort Monroe as well. Fort Monroe is also great to walk around or even go fishing.
