While on a bike ride on the C&O canal on a very hot day, we ran out of water. How happy we were to find the ticket shop for White's Ferry which also has a small convenience store selling ice cold Gatorade, water and food....More

Take the ferry everyday to go to work...one of the best ride. People are awesome and makes a shorter route for my commute.

Taking the ferry is my preferred alternative to the horrid beltway to get from Md to Va. It is a beautiful way to get across and it puts you into a lovely part of either state. Beware, though that you have cash for the trip....More

While the trip across the Potomac River is not much more than a stones through, this is a fun experience. So take the adventure and ride the Ferry.

Good ride from Maryland side of the Potomac to Virginia to attend a golf outing at the Lansdowne resort. Bought a round trip ticket for $8.00. Short wait at 5:00pm Thursday; about 12 cars got on with out any problem. Returned Saturday about 4:00 with...More

This is a great way to avoid beltway traffic. In operation since 1782, it's the last ferry service on the Potomac and can carry 24 cars. The crossing takes about 4 minutes, but wait times depend on how many cars are loading and unloading. If...More

the boat stops at 11:00 pm and it has no other schedule. If there are cars or a car on one side, they will come across to get it so you can continue your trip 8.00 dollars round trip.
