Established in October of 2008, Casanel Vineyards and Winery is a family-owned and operated business. Our main focus centers on our passion not only for grape-growing, but also for winemaking, emphasized in the way we produce our small lot, craft wines. Our unique terroir, located in the heart of the Middleburg AVA in Leesburg, Virginia, provides us with the perfect setting to achieve our exclusive winemaking style and flavors. The family, along with our stellar vineyard and cellar team, work together each and every year to capture the best expression of our terroir and enthusiasm for winemaking excellence. Each grape is nurtured on the vine, artfully crafted in our cellar, and then finally hand-bottled and hand-labeled before our wine makes its way to your glass. We pride ourselves on providing a truly unique experience in our tasting room, one that is reflected in our quiet, adult ambiance, tranquil setting amidst the Catoctin ridge, and educational approach to tastings. Passion, quality, and attention to detail make our wines a perfect pour, every time.

If you have a chance to experience Casanel, you will not be disappointed! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting. Their wine is remarkable! Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenere are among our favorites. Plan on having a tasting, learning about the vineyard, and relaxing for an afternoon.

The moment I opened the door to the tasting room I felt the hospitality my friend described. This is a family owned winery - a daughter is the vintner and her parents, Casey and Nelson, run the business end. Everyone was delightful! There is a stone building adjacent to the tasting room - powerful incentive to join their wine club.... More

We stopped in on a nearly 70 degree day in February, with the sun shining, seemed vineyards were quite popular that day, as there were lots of people here and at all the others we drove by. We were greeted quickly upon entering, even though they were packed and the tasting bar was too full for a space. A space... More

Nice atmosphere is a chalet type setting. The main tasting room was very large and accommodating with the fireplace on one end. Open the door to the outside and one overlooks a small lake with a gazebo that probably is very calming to view when everything is in bloom. Sitting by the fire and enjoying the wine was a nice... My husband and two boys ages 7 and 9 and I visited Casanel just before Halloween. The staff was really in the holiday spirit, all dressed up and my kids loved it. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable on the wines and history of the place. We loved the views and the wines were exquisite. Highly recommend!

Out 4th and final stop on the Harmony Cluster tour was Casanel Vineyards. This has a beautiful entrance where you drive through some of the vine area and it looks like there are places for events. We did the tasting and ended up grabbing a few glasses to drink down at the gazebo down by the pond. I really enjoyed... More

We just recently returned to Casanel and spend a nice couple of hours on the deck, on the patio and simply strolling the place. It is so embracing. The wine varieties are for everyone--from sweet to dry, from white to red and sometimes they also have sangria. We enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the pond this time--beautiful and relaxing.... More

Did a quick tasting here. The inside of the tasting room has plenty of seating and there is outdoor seating as well. Nothing to write home about as far as the wines go, but the service was super friendly. We learned about the history of the vineyard and the names behind the wines, which was pretty neat.

This was the second winery of the day staff was very knowledgeable and it was fun to see all the wines that were named after family members. The dessert wine is delicious. They have a great outdoor seating area, with a local musician; bring your own picnic lunch, buy a bottle of wine and enjoy.

We enjoyed a nice friendly wine tasting, and then enjoyed a nice glass of wine out on the back deck. It is a fun experience to learn about and taste various wines. Many of them seem to have interesting names and stories behind them. I little different than the average experience. Take the time and stop in. The back deck... More
