This park is quiet and secluded. This time of year as the leaves are falling and changing the views of the water are clearer and during the week days most of the time you have the place to yourself . It's a great spot .

We visited this park at the end of June, 2016 and my kids fell in love with it. They spent about 3 hours digging in the sand on the banks of the Potomac. We went early in the morning and saw eagles, snakes, turtles, and other wildlife. It was so very quiet and we were the only ones there for... More

Mason Neck is a State Park on a protected peninsula loaded with wildlife and free from outside noise. I've witnessed several bird gatherings including a party of Trumpet Swans numbering near one hundred getting to know each other during this noisy event. Being mid April I suspect finding a mate was part of the agenda. There are several Parks on... More

I absolutely love this place and never get tired of coming here. Great hiking trails and a very nice bike trail. If you're looking for a great place to escape for a few hours and catch a great sunset, this is it.

Mason Neck is coveniently located a short distance from DC and just south of Fort Belvoir, VA. The drive to the park is a nice short ride, where you almost always see deer or wild turkey, and several times, I've spotted bald eagles. The park has nice walkable trails that take you along the Potomac, as well as an asphalt... More

A small park around the DC area. On par with other more famous parks. Nice and quiet. The trails by the oceans are my favourite.

My first time visiting the Mason Neck State Park. The scenery is beautiful with is vast trees, walking trails and glimpses of Potomac River. I was invited by a co-worker to attend the annual Uzbek Picnic. I was not able to stay long but it was an awesome time interacting with an other culture.

If you want to go on a hike and see gorgeous scenery, this is the place for you! We were able to get in about 8-10 miles of hiking and we missed one trail when we ran out of light! Definitely visit the bay at sunset and do not miss the Eagle Spur trail as that observation blind offers the... More

Mason Neck is a great park to go hiking! I came here in the winter and there was probably 6 inches of snow on the trails still, but that just made it more fun! We even got to see several bald eagles. It was only $5 for parking. It's close to DC, which makes it a nice escape from the... More
