by far my favorite vineyard/winery: non pretentious, relaxed and inclusive atmosphere, encouragement to bring your own munchies (though they have a few options for purchase on-site) and tasty wines. have visited over the years and in multiple seasons, always very pleased

Went to DuCard this weekend with my wife on our way up from Charlottesville to dinner at the Inn at Little Washington. Knowing the over-the-top experience waiting us that evening, we wanted to hit a vineyard that was a bit more comfortable and relaxing. DuCard delivered on this promise -- a beautiful location tucked right against Shenandoah National Park and... More

It is refreshing to find a place that is welcoming without being pretentious and immediately makes you feel like a friend stopping by. Attentive staff that know their wines and take their time to make it a personal experience for their guests. They have a nice variety of wines that is quality versus quantity. The tasting room has large windows,... More

My husband and I stumbled upon this vineyard by accident, and we are so glad we did. We had moved to Virginia in September 2014 from the Bay area, and therefore were used to fabulous wines. At first, we were disappointed with Virginia wines, finding them thin and lacking complexity. But, DuCard changed all that! This vineyard cares about quality,... More

We have been to DuCard a number of times. Just the two of us out for a country wine tasting drive, with friends, with our dog, kids, friends kids, every time it's a pleasure to sit and chat, drink wine, people watch, nature watch. It makes a great place to meet friends from the DC area as well. The drive... More

The winery staff are knowledgeable and lead our small group thru a fun tasting of a number of red, white and dessert wines. We were impressed. The tasting room was very clean, well organized and there was plenty of windows to take in the beautiful mountain & vineyard views.

This is a small vineyard in absolutely amazing setting, good wine and friendly service. We were sitting outside with glass of merlot and Triskele and felt like we were only people in the area.

First off, they have a super cool LOVE sign out front made of wine bottles. Great picture opportunity. But on to the wine...we did a full tasting and wine was excellent! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. They also have games for their customers/kids to play (cornhole, croquet, bad mitten). Also picked up a locally made cheese... More

We've visited a lot of vineyards in Northern VA and this one stands out for sure. The scenery is beautiful, as is the building. We almost felt like we were back in New England. There is lots of great outdoor seating if the weather is right. The wines were some of the best I've had. Very unique compared to the... More
