I was very impressed with the Covid-19 measures in place. Lots of useful instruction before we set off on the river (it is self-guided, so the instructors don't come along). I was a bit worried because I'd only kayaked a few times, and on flat water. The instructor went over what to do if your kayak tipped enough for you to go in the water on the rapids - basically let go of the boat/paddle and go over the rapids on your back, like a water slide. The life jackets make it so you can't possibly do anything other than float. (And the rapids are all class-1; fun and a bit exciting, but not dangerous.) I was the only one who had any issues - I got caught against a rock in one of the rapids. I kept calm and "scooted" and eventually got past it - only to get stuck against a bigger rock. That took a bit more scooting, but I wasn't worried - if worst came to worst, I'd get to try that water slide thing. Got past that one as well and realized I was having a great time. You should be reasonably fit to do this, both for navigating the rapids and for the last 3rd of the trip (no rapids, lots of paddling - but we had an hour to get through that part and so could take some nice breaks while we coasted). It's equivalent to shoveling deep snow for a few hours - if you pace yourself, you'll be fine. (For reference: I'm a 60-year-old woman with about 30 extra pounds and exercise about 4x/week, and I did just fine - not even sore the next day.) We will certainly go again next time we are in the area.

We went tubing with your crew yesterday and had a great experience. We really appreciated all the COVID precautions that you took despite people being difficult with you. Thanks for the experience 👍 I will definitely recommend to friends.

We felt safe on this trip. COVID precautions were used- on the short bus rides to & from the the boat ramps, we all wore masks and empty rows of seats were between groups. This paddle was not guided which means that no Massanutten Adventures employee/guide is in the water with you, only at drop off and pick up. The friendly staff gives plenty of clear instructions before helping put in the water. Is fine for even non-experienced paddlers and families ( canoes and kayaks). The scenery is beautiful and peaceful between class I rapids. We were given a time that we should arrive at the take out point. We paddled along quite slowly enjoying the sights and made it back to the take out point just in time. Thanks Massanutten Adventure for a great day!

We took a fabulous tour yesterday to Washington DC with Massanutten Adventures. We began at 5:30AM from our resort and got back about 7:30PM. Gaylon was our motor coach driver and Mike Pastor was our escort / guide. We had lunch in the Capital Building Visitors' Center cafeteria. Mike was fabulous to describe everything, to keep us on target and to mingle around each location to be sure we got to our destinations and back. The itinerary was fabulous and we hit almost every highlight we would want to see without the worry of driving, the traffic, parking, etc. We did drive by but my photos were blurred of Iwo Jima Statue and several other memorials, buildings and monuments. Dinner was included in Manassas, VA on the way back. I highly recommend this tour and this company if you are ever this way.
