One of my favorite Virginia State Parks! The hiking is stellar. The views are spectacular. With great camping and horse back facilities the Park offers so much!

This park has to be one of the finest around. Between the fresh air, mountains, trails(including the AT which runs through it) and ponies, there is enough to keep you occupied for days.

If you travel Interstates, Grayson Highlands is probably off your radar screen. But if you like the backroads then take a trip down VA 58 and visit Grayson Highlands SP. It is well worth the windy road to get there. The park has some great...More

What a beautiful trail. Saw around 7 ponies. Kids enjoyed climbing the rocks. This is a unique area....almost looked like a diff part of the country. We will be back when we can spend more time.

What a great State Park. We had read about the hiking and scenery and it was all true. Great trails, great ponies and it is as easy or hard as you want it to be. I would absolutely recommend visiting this park. It was beautiful!!

Loved the ponies and vistas. Wear good shoes--rocky trails. Worth seeing for sure! Plenty of trails for bringing your horses to ride also. The terrain is unique from other places in the mountains around. It didn't feel like VA. Hiking poles are helpful here.

This park is an awesome place. Wild Ponies were all over the place, loved seeing them. It is a great place to backpack or just take a day trip.

I was backpacking so I did not use the campground. But from previous experience in other campgrounds there are tent sites with electrical. These are nice if you want to hang lights or charge phones etc. I have run a small... More

Yes, We were there recently this spring and we brought our dog with on the Rhododendron Trail and the Appalachian Trail. As far as I could tell, dogs were allowed on all trails, but keep in mind some are strenuous for pets... More
