The caverns are interesting and not overly difficult to walk through, although you do need tennis shoes and a light jacket/sweater. Our tour guide was absolutely wonderful, very knowledgeable and entertaining. The gift shop was nice. Worth the time and money.

The caverns are classified as the deepest on the east coast. They have some large formations, not very many compared to other caverns in the western part of Virginia. But still nice. If there, buy a combo ticket with the Natural Bridge to save on...More

Full of history, physically challenging for those not so "in shape"....tennis shoes would be helpful! Thoroughly enjoyed listening to the history and experiencing the feel of being 350 +feet underground. Tour guides were knowledgeable and made the tour fun for all ages.

The history is interesting and our guide was very knowledgeable. After seeing several other caves this one is not a must see, but if you are in the area it is a complimenting visit to the bridge

nothing spectacular...pretty though! There is a bus that takes you down ad then you walk up a path to see the "bridge and to the caverns...there were benches in several places which was good to be able to rest
