We took a 3h tour, but you can choose 1h, 2h, 3h, or all afternoon. Our guide was very nice, he explained a lot about the islands. We stopped at a restaurant to have lunch and bought some beers to bring on the boat. The only negative point is Monkey Island, a tiny island where a family of spider monkeys... More

We hired a local guide to take us on a private boat tour. Lovely islands, relaxing vibe and lots of unique plants and animals to watch.

My husband and I enjoyed this tour immensely! The houses, birds, monkeys, foliage on the islands are amazing. There was even an island with a cemetery. Granada is busy. This tour was very peaceful and beautiful. Highly recommend.

W etravelled by boat for an hour around the islets that were formed in Lake Nicaraugua when the local volcano erupted 20,000 years ago. There are 25000 inhabitants on these islands and some homes are very remote and simple while others are quite ornate. A very interesting tour.

As part of our day tour of Nicaragua we toured some of the islands on Lake Nicaragua. You can tour by boat or kayak. The scenery is beautiful. One island has some monkeys that will get on the boat with you if the captain has bananas. So many beautiful homes with their own little private island. It was a very... More

We were fortunate to travel to the private island with its devoted owners from Nicaragua Dolce and had a wonderful scenic and relaxing day. Saw more interesting birds than we expected on our electric boat tour with guide. Herons, osprey, orapendula, kiskadee, flocks of parrots , trogan-- but go even if you aren't a bird watcher. Excellent lunch, naps in... More

This is a cheap lazy activity to do so if you are hungover but want to see something it's alright. Otherwise, there's nothing spectacular. I enjoyed the background knowledge on Nicaragua the guide was giving, but the boat tour just felt like the most touristy thing I could possibly do. Good if I have nothing better to do with my... With a guide from Careli tour company we toured the isletas on a smallish boat with local skipper. Mid morning trip, we loved seeing the colourful homes on tiny islands and the bonus of masses of wild bird life. Our guide, Juan Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and we took some amazing photos. He did tell us the best birding trips... More

Kayak tour, arranged by Nicaraguan Adventures, was great. Nearly 2 hours, kayaked around through the islands, saw lots of birds of all kinds.
