I live in Granada and have spent a ton of time exploring these islands. There are many locals who offer a tour of the islands in their privately owned boat. Most tours run $20 for an hour per boat. Up to 8-10 people. If your...More

We did a tour here early in the morning in order to see the birdlife. It was very much worth it. I suppose during high season, the waters here must be a zoo, but overall it was serene. We saw several interesting birds in a...More

We had no idea about the Islets and were taken by our guide. The place surprised us. It is a nice quite tour to get to know a beautiful lake archipelago.

Some small islands, boat journey too long and i doubt kayaks would get far to enjoy it (i expect 3-4 hour round trip) to do what the boats do. It seemed pricy for what it was, particularly if you are travelling for a few weeks...More

You should be able to negotiate a tour of any length. The guides seem more than happy to make a little more money.

You bring US. You can change your money at the bank or exchange from street corner vendors, they're pretty much at the same rate as banks. ATM's will give out one or the other, local or US.

The guides will help you in and out of the boat but they are pretty steep. There aren't many of them though, maybe ten steps or so on each isleta. It wasn't a physical excursion at all.
