Our visit to the Chocomuseo on July 8, 2021 was enjoyable and we recommend the workshop. Our guide, Kenny “Wonka” Blandino was enthusiastic, entertaining, and informative about the history of the cacao tree, bean and chocolate-making process and industry. The workshop was fun, even if a little costly, with enough hands-on experience to make it interesting. 90 minutes is a long time to be standing so a chair or stool would have been welcome. Many tourist stops in Nicaragua like Chocomuseo have less business coming through, we felt good about supporting them. Our take-home souvenir was three chocolate bars made in the workshop.
I agree below with comments about hygiene. Workshop hosts and participants should wash their hands before and during the time with customers. Since we are still in an active pandemic in Nicaragua, I would have preferred to see our hosts wearing masks all the time, not just when they were in closer contact with us during the workshop as well as less reliance on hand sanitizer and more availability of a handwashing station. Other restaurants in Granada request that their visitors go directly to wash their hands before being seated or served.
The hotel and building are interesting to walk through, the cacao products are also diverse and with good packaging-presentation. Would recommend a visit if you are in Granada!

We visited the museo and were taken on a fun tour by one of the enthusiastic ladies who worked there. She explained the process of growing to processing the cacao to the form we know so well. She even got us singing and dancing too! The tour lasted around 10min and whilst 'free', there is an expectation of a tip. There is also a 60ft swimming pool that you can use in the complex for a daily fee.

We dropped in for a quick tour and were given a brief history of the cocoa bean to Chocolate. Those doing the workshop were having a great time dancing as they bashed and rolled the chocolate! We sampled the chocolate drinks - one like Baileys, a rum one and a couple of others. All very good.

The staff is energetic and explain chocolate with enthusiasm which makes for a fun environment. I had a hot chocolate one day and it was pretty good though I was concerned that there was no hand washing sink visible. I also registered for their chocolate making workshop and was the only participant. She did not wash her hands or clean the counter we worked on, and I wasn't given an opportunity to wash my hands either. What was supposed to be a 90 minute or so workshop was just 45 minutes.
My recommendation is to do their quick & free tour where you just tip the leader, and skip the workshop.

Wonderful time spent as the history of chocolate was explained by an energetic young man. He had us sample many different types of chocolate including brownies, nuts, drinks, etc.

We made a brief stop at Choco Museum while travelling in Granada. We were given to taste 3 or 4 different liquors made of choco. Most interesting thing for me was a choco tree grown at the back yard of the museum. Bought some products at the store. Overall, nice visit.

Costly but unique. Marcus was good. The rooms were not air conditioned but had fans. They should clean up the rocks on the way to the shower. Staff was friendly, place is cool to see.

Is it necessary to request free airport pickup if arriving in MGA later in evening or does shuttle run on a regular schedule?

That is a good question. I am not certain. Once we cleared immigration & customs it was about 9:30pm and there was an individual out on the curb coordinating loading onto the shuttle. Once you leave the secure area and exit the terminal the shuttle pickup is on the right. I had tried to email the hotel in advance to advise of my arrival but the emails never went through. This is a popular hotel for individuals arriving in MGA and I suspect late at night they know when international flights arrive and send a shuttle to meet flights.
