Famous year 1000, Roman Abbey, up in the mountains. Chiseled pillars and famous "tribune" are worth the trip

Fascinating - the setting is superb and we had never seen anything like the interior with its stunning gallery.

First: THEY DO NOT TAKE BANK CARDS. We arrived unaware that we were low on euros and didn't have the cash to get in. They folks working the desk conferenced and then said, "for you, it's ok." We gave them all the cash we had, which sadly, was about half of the 8E fee for two adults. :/ We will... More

It's not a big place, but it's still worth the trip. A nice calm atmosphere. The ideal place for meditation or a nice slow picnic with friends or Family.

A long and smal road takes you up in the mountains, further and further away from society. Besides the beauty of the place we also enjoyed the silence and seclusion of the place.

Well worth the long and twisty drive up into the mountains - the priory itself is unexpected and beautiful - the gardens are a delight.

This is a surprising little old (but not ruined) priory on the French side of the Pyrenees, near Prades and below the Canigou. It's about 40 mins west of Perpignan, but it's better accessed via the small scenic and winding road north of Amelie les Bains, but not if you're in a hurry! The Priory itself is hidden several km... We stopped here on a hike up and down the surrounding mountains. What a serene place nested in the Pyrenees. There are printed guides in numerous languages. Views all around are fabulous
