We came up to Newport News for a weekend getaway. We got a camping spot for our RV. The weather didn't really cooperate and it was rainy and gray. The welcome center is new. The campground is very big with 4 loops ranging from 30/50...More

A fun time with the family. We walked the trails and the kids had fun playing on the playgrounds. Recommend the playgrounds if you have small children.

Best to visit in Fall and Spring as Winter can be bleak. Summer is just too crowded and many bugs. Shelter #3 has a terrific view of the lake and it can be very tranquil

I love Newport News Park! It's a great place to camp with an RV. We enjoyed being on the water, hiking, and just relaxing in a serene environment.

lots of trails for running or walking, with some nice historical plaques sprinkled around the park. They also have a disc-golf and golf course too

Wonderful place for big group cookout. It was a catered affair. Plus we had a shelter for our Sunday service. Neat and clean, beautiful scenery.

An excellent day to be out and about taking wildlife pictures. There are so many forms/types of wildlife in the park. A beautiful place to bisit.

It is very nice park. In the morning hours, in front of rangers station, the park is fully shaded by trees so it is nice to play there so the equipments are not hot! Plus, bathrooms are by rangers station (which is cleaner ones)

The park was nice. I appreciated that it had outside outlets to charge electronics and deep fryers. The children had a play area, they had space to run and play. The only thing is, they need more staff to constantly keep the restrooms clean.
