Beautiful hotel and castle. Amazing grounds, lovely trails leading to super views over central Portugal. Absolutely worth spending the day here. The trails are extensive, give yourself time to wander. There is so much to see.

We drove through this Forest and past the Palace due to time constraints, but what we did see was absolutely gorgeous. I would say if you have time you could spend hourse exploring.

When we arrived in this location, the weather was rainy so we can not say that we enjoy the ramble. We just walked for about ten minutes but was enough to understand that this is a very beautiful and enormous forest with a lot of different kind of trees. There is also a small lake with some birds. There are... More

This unique complex includes a gorgeous dense forest and a former palace, now converted to a hotel, The forest is very old and home to more than 250 tree and shrub species, including trees of a gigantic stature and exotics plants. It reminds me of the Pena park in Sintra. The romantic palace was designed in an extravagant Neo-Manueline style.... More

This was known as the Palacio de Bossaco years ago if I'm not mistaken. And although the palicio has beautiful architecture and some nice grounds the palacio it self is now a hotel and you're not allowed to go in unless you're a guest, so you're limited to walking around the exterior or if you're in good physical shape walk... We came here after visiting Coimbra, it was good to be away from the crowds. There is a small fee to enter the park, but its worth it, there are some lovely gardens, water features, a small monastery, and lots of lovely trees, also a gift shop if you need any souvenirs.

This was a gorgeous forest to explore. We drove up and parked the car at the top, cost €5, but it was worth it as it would have been a long walk up in the heat. The fonte fria is beautiful along with the palace hotel. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to explore more of what the forest had... More

It was amazing for me to be in Mata National do Bussaco. And further more in a very hot day. At first, I thought maybe I couldn't go all around due to my age, but I did it and I am proud of that. If you visit Lussaco, please don't miss Mata National do Bussaco. It's value for money. Satur... More
