Built by a family of winemakers from the Douro, in 1751, Ferreira possessed a rich tradition and a prominent role in the history of Porto Wine. Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira contributed significantly to the consolidation of the brand. A legendary woman with a unique personality, who became a myth and a symbol of strength, facing the adversities of nineteenth-century Douro. Ferreira Cellars invite you to discover a brand over 250 years old, a symbol of the highest quality that encapsulates Portugal's heart and soul.

Very informative tour guide; learned a great deal. I would recommend a larger tasting than we did...not just Tawny but also Ruby. I particularly enjoyed the late vintage bottle of ruby port. You can buy Ferreira wines in the duty free store at the airport.

I did these kind of tours many times before but unlike in Madeira, this tour was done in a hurry. There was a lot of stuff you had to take in without being able to read any signs. On holiday my brain is in second...More

Visited here on a group tour so cannot comment on the costs. It was interesting but when you have been on one tour you have seen all there is to see. Large vats, smaller vats, some bottles piled high then a tasting.

Although I am not a wine drinker, I learned a lot about how Port wines are created, aged and then exported. I have never seen barrels so big! The guide was excellent and knew her stuff and obviously loved her work. My friends really enjoyed...More

Went on the classic tour which was the only tour available that day for some reason. The tour group was quite large but our guide spoke really well and was very knowledgeable. Great tour for beginners to Port wine.
