White tiny little masterpiece

White tiny little masterpiece. Not the only white town but maybe one of the most interesting! From this panoramic spot you have a perfect sight on it!

This is a super mountain village and the views are stunning from the many vantage points. Towards both the sea and mountains. Excellent.

Of course this little place is super touristy but the views are amazing and it is fun to wander its pretty streets. We were here on a sunny December day but it must get packed in the height of season

Beautiful village
Feb 2019
The charming little town - or is it a largeish village? - of Frigiliana can be reached easily from Nerja by bus for a lovely day out. In summer there are a dozen buses a day, 7 or 8 on Sundays. It takes 10 - 15 minutes only, so not a long tiring trip. You catch the bus in Nerja on the northern side of Avenida Pescia, the main road through the town. The service to Frigiliana is run by a different company to other buses from Nerja, so you don´t go to the kiosk to buy tickets, but pay the driver. It´s just over €1 (€1.15 or €1.20, I can´t remember, but very cheap). Get there in plenty of time to buy your ticket, there may well be a queue in high season and you may not get on.

I have given so much info about the buses, but of course it is perfectly possible to go in your own car. Getting there is not a problem, it´s very well signposted. The problem is parking when you arrive . . . There are carparks, but of course local people use them too (you can´t park in those pretty little old streets in the Centro Histórico), as do the people who come to work there. So if you do go by car, don´t wait until you see a Car Park sign but park in the street at the beginning of the village, the very first parking space you see.

Or come by bus!

Once you get to the old centre, you´ll be blown away by the gorgeous little streets and squares. Everywhere you walk, you see another wonderful little place. It is utterly charming, your camera will get red-hot with all your photos! Some of my photos, incidentally, are 360º twirly ones, so you can look all around.

Apart from the parking, any other downsides?

Yes, and it could be a major one. Uphill and very steep, with cobbled streets, does not make for easy walking for older visitors or those with some mobility problems.

The climb up is worth it for the fabulous views at the top. Make sure you have a camera and a bottle of water.

Views at every turn.

So many photo opportunities in this Village. The higher you climb, the greater the rewards, but even if you stay at Plaza level the whitewashed buildings look spectacular.

Lovely walk down to the town from here.
Sep 2019
Great views of the Old and the New town from here, there is a enjoyable walk down to the town by the old castle ruins, but you need to be sure footed to do it. But I feel worth the effort if you are.

Typical village, must be visited
Jul 2019
Beautiful typical village of that Spain area. Frigiliana is a typical white village of Malaga area. On this specific village you will spend good time by walking accross the narrow streets. Plenty of advertisment are on the house wall, streets are made with little stone and global atmospher is relaxing. Make a tout with touristical train having a global overview of the village.
