Piece of history hidden in Gravesend.next to St Georges church is this lovely statue of an Indian princess. Tourists look for this especially after the success of the Disney production. A must see.

The kids loved it, my younger daughter aged 7 didn't realise that Pocahontas was real. The Disney story is not true to life. It was a wonderful statue but would not say that you should go to Gravesend just to see it. The church grounds...More

We had a little difficulty finding this statue and missed the information board when we first arrived. Once we found it the setting was lovely with a good amount of historical detail on display.

Just happened to be in Gravesend and came across the statue. I wouldn't make a special effort to go there just to see it. It's worth looking round the church whilst there as more information about Pocahontas. If he is there, have a chat to...More

I am putting 5 stars because I think people should take the time to see where Pocahontas is buried...its a very sad story and is nothing like the Disney movie. This year marks 400 years of her being stolen from her family for the purpose...More

The statue itself is well worth seeing - a one-off really - and the church can be VERY interesting as it has many unusual items in it and connections. If you're in a group with a specific interest in Pocahontas & the New World link,...More

I always knew about Pocahontas as I lived my life in Gravesend but the children have a genuine interested because she's a Disney Princess. I wouldn't say its a day out but the gardens of the church are always well kept and its a beautiful...More

We pass through here en route to the shops to get whatever we need for the Hotel that night, whilst down visiting family. It's a cracking statue in a lovely, almost hidden Churchyard. 7 years ago on my first trip there and I didn't even...More
