Brad and Jeromie, the owners of the company and also the pilots' are making sure that one is having a great experience. The healthy and safety part is taken very seriously and they walk you through everything step by step. The flight itself was amazing. Lucky with the weather, beautiful blue sky and not too hot, I flow over the Yarra Valley with great visibility as far as the CBD of Melbourne more than 50km away. I got to fly the Tiger Moth for myself for about 15 minutes. Sitting in this open-air plane, looking past the wings left and right is already a great experience but flying this thing yourself is just a dream. I had a hell of a great day and would do again tomorrow in a heartbeat. Thanks guys for this great experience.

Before leaving New Zealand for a trip to Australia two of our party decided they really wanted to do the "Biggles" flight. We finally got to Melbourne and booked the flights for them. Turned up on the day - all very professional in a casual manner which made them more relaxed. First one was my brother in law - he almost fell into the leather helmet, the goggles and the leather jacket. The huge smile on his face keeps returning whenever it's mentioned now we're back home. He almost danced to the Tiger Moth and when the flight was over his grin took in the whole airfield. Next was my wife - she'd done this before back home, but was just as excited - her grin was pretty much the same as her brother's. Both said the pilot was excellent and the ground crew was a most affable young man who made sure they were comfortable. They got more than their value for money and want to do it all again. Highly recommend this outfit

Jamie and his team offer an authentic flying experience. Before takeoff I was fitted out with a period leather flying jacket, cap and goggles. Each of the proposed acrobatic manoeuvres was explained, making sure my expectations and comfort remained in check. During the flight, Jamie (the pilot) talked me through how the tigermoth was going to behave as we banked, rolled and looped, regularly checking i was within my comfort zone and getting maximum value from my vintage aircraft flying experience. I’d highly recommend these professional bunch of guys to anyone wanting a real flying experience and value for money.

I gave my husband a lesson in the Tiger Moth. When it was brought to the pilot’s attention that my husband had quite a few flying hours himself, the pilot allowed my husband to do most of the flying - except, naturally, take off and landing.
My husband hadn’t flown this type of aircraft and thought the whole experience good fun. Talking to other people who had just taken a flight in the Tiger Moth, they too had a fabulous time and were very enthusiastic about the whole experience. Thank you Vintage Airways for such a nice morning.

Husband has an interest in war time fighter planes. A voucher was bought and the flight taken. Best experience which is talked about plenty. Lesson Voucher bought next. Great service and experience.

I was offered a 20 minutes vintage flight over the Yarra Valley for my birthday. The experience was amazing as flying in a Tiger Moth plane is completely different to anything you know!

However, I have to say the service wasn't appropriate at all: I am a small person (1,60m) so they were not able to provide me with any of the vintage flying gear (minimum size is Large), and the pilot wasn't friendly at all (I'm not asking for a long chat but at least a "Hello, My name is Brad" and "Good bye, hope you enjoyed" would have been good...).

Overall, I'm quite disappointed considering the price I paid. If you want to do it, just do it for the plane and landscapes and don't expect for a nice and warm reception!

We gave a 30 min Aerobatic ride in a Tiger Moth as a birthday present. The staff at Vintage Airways are very friendly and informative. The service was great. The flight was so much fun for the recipient, and the spectators had a good view from the ground. If you want to try something different this could well be the thing for you.

My children gave me an aerobatic flight in a vintage Tiger Moth for my 80th Birthday. What a thrill it was; loops, barrel rolls and stall turns with spins. These old aircraft are amazing - over 70 years old and fully aerobatic. The pilots are enthusiasts and so experienced, they can make the craft do almost anything!
The Vintage Airways hanger also houses a collection of vintage aircraft and one "Red Bull" racer. A visit is so worth while. Even if you don't intend to fly that day, you could be sorely tempted to book a flight. As well as aerobatics, there are scenic flights over the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges for the less adventurous.
