We have just stayed over Easter weekend in the Little Red Hut and loved it. We are city dwellers, so to bring our children to a place with no WIFI and TV was great The owners Alan and Alison were so welcoming and the Hut was very rustic but cozy, especially once the log fire was lit in the evenings.... This was absolutely amazing! I will defiantly be returning to do it again! We meet at the farm which has plenty of parking and then had a short drive on the back of a trailer to the start of the track! We were then left and the driver advised of a time he would return to collect us! There were... More

Really beautiful place, where we've done a few horse treks over the years. It was the first time I've felt even remotely unsafe there. My horse - Tommy - was having a bad day and needed someone with more experience riding him. Crossing the river, he decided to cool off. He sat down and then started to roll over forgetting... More

Living over the hill in Wellington, we never realised how much of a hidden gem we had in our region's backyard! We did the chasm walk from 11:30am-3pm. Arrived to very friendly hosts, were given a briefing/signed H&S waiver, hopped in the land cruiser and headed to the walk. We were told the walk before the chasm would take around... More

The thought of exploring a chasm appealed to me, and as a surprise, the sister in law organized a jaunt from Wellington to this farm for the three of us for the day. Just a short drive from Martinborough, the farm is located many km's down a gravel road, making it less appealing for other visitors (great!!!!!) and a nice... More

My daughter and I came across this when looking for things to do in Wellington. Sounded very interesting with a bit of excitement. That is exactly what it was. Well worth the travel out there. What I loved about this place is that it is not over commercialised. The ride up to the start of the walk was basic but... More

We really enjoyed our visit to the Chasm. The walk is not geographically very long (roughly 2km for the short course) but it's interesting because of the terrain. Some bits were quite steep and narrow but the beautiful scenery more than made up for any nervousness. The actual Chasm itself is so beautiful - we stopped every few steps to... More

Loved the Patuna Chasm walk. I'm not fit, have shocking balance and scare easily when it comes to physical feats but the incredible scenery totally made up for that. You certainly get far more than $25 worth of views and anecdotes from this experience. In hindsight, I'd take a swimsuit, dry sacks and more food/drink next time. Plus a dry... More

Love the views and adventures... this is not your ordinary farm 😉😉😉 Rapelling, dipping into the cold water, muds and hiking... Fantastic views especially in the caves (or looks like cave to me 😃😃😃)

We drove over for the day from Wellington to have a look at the Patuna Chasm. Loved it. On arrival at the Patuna Farm you have a safety briefing and sign a waiver. The Owners give you an instruction sheet and direct you up the road a few km to the track start point. This was a little difficult to... More
