As it was late-ish when we arrived at the Kauri Walk, we decided to just do the short boardwalk option. It was an easy walk on a well maintained boardwalk. The short walk was not on the map shown at the entrance, but you can't...More

We loved this forest walk. Our guide, Anne-Marie, originally from Germany, was first-rate. She was very knowledgeable and her enthusuasm was infectious. Highly recommended.

The Puketi Forest is little developed, and accessed by gravel roads. This trail is not a developed walk with raised walkways, but rather a somewhat-marked network of rough tracks, much of it at the beginning in nonspectacular mixed woods rather than kauri groves. We only...More

Suitable for most fitness levels, is an interesting stroll around some really old kauri trees. Worth seeing
