Polyface sells great food with wonderful taste and quality despite huge competition from agri-business. Their food is fabulous. Polyface is really good farming. Their animals are raised humanely, receiving lots of tender loving care and personal attention. I wish that I live a lot closer so that I could purchase Polyface food every week. It's bizarre why the bureaucrats try... More

What the Salatins are doing here is tremendous. Our party of 8 - 2 families with small children - drove from Canada with seeing this farm up close as our main reason for travelling. Polyface did not disappoint. We did a self-guided tour to see the animals and set up and then spent time chatting with the workers and family... More

The whole reason we came to visit Staunton was to see the Polyface Farm. We were excited to visit this working farm, and speak with all who work there about their farm and how it is run. It was a really awesome experience as everyone there is caring and really wants to help educate others about farming. We were able... More

We stopped here for a lunatic tour. We arrived a day early to poke around the farm. There were interns coming and going and everyone was friendly. The farm is located off the beaten path with lots of curves and turns. Beautifully located. We arrived for our tour on a Monday morning. There are signs for the tour starting point... More

We stopped here to visit the farm store and load up on food. We did not take an official tour but we did wander a bit after buying our food. If was VERY hot the day we visited so we opted to only wander nearby the farm store as my kids were already tired. It was clean and simple and... More

Daniel led the tour and it was a lot of fun. Everything I expected and maybe a little more. It was good to see in person the broiler chicken tractors and walking amongst the pigs in the woods. Also saw the huge layer chicken tractor.

We visited Polyface on May 16th, 2015. We had never done anything like this. While we were starting our own small farm, we wanted to get some outside ideas from other, more experienced farmers. Boy were we impressed. Joel Salatin was our "lunatic" tour guide. He is an established author, extremely knowledgable when it comes to farming and business, and... More

The Salatin farm is off the main road for sure, but it's SO worth the drive through the beautiful country to go visit this farm. We were there with no other visitors, and we were allowed to wander the farm at will. It's a working farm, and even where there were many animals together, there was no bad smells. I... More

Having read "The Omnivore's Dilemma" and watched "Food Inc." and seen J.S. in various YouTube interviews, I was excited to visit this farm. I am also a member of a CSA farm in Upstate NY for 15 years, so to me PolyFace is a must-see destination. We went fairly far out of way to visit. We were camping in the... More

A trip to Polyface Farms is an amazing experience. This is a farm that has everything: cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, vegetables. We took a tour with owner Joel Salatin, and while he is extremely opinionated about the big corporate farm culture, he is also extremely knowledgable about running a farm. And the way he runs Polyface is absolutely fantastic.... More
