The Harbor Seals are outside, by the entrance, and a program begins there at 10:00, so try to arrive before 10 to see the seals get fed and perform (no ticket needed since you are still outside). There are two buildings – the Bay and Ocean Pavilion and the Marsh Pavilion joined by a nature trail with several observation areas.... More

This aquarium is one of the smaller ones that I have visited, but there is still a lot to see. There are sea lions, sharks, turtles, a fish tunnel, and more. We were in town for business and fit this in between meetings and it was a nice break. My only complaint is that it is overpriced!

There is everything you like to see from fish, to sharks. Even got a trail outdoors to walk in and enjoy nature. Great way to kill a few hours and very nice staff.

Whether you're two or 92, there's something to amaze you at this aquarium! I last visited this place about 25 years ago when it has first opened and hadn't been back in the area since then. It has grown up! There are soooo many interactive exhibits for young and old to experience. We made a volcano erupt and created a... More

We really enjoyed our visit to the Virginia Aquarium and highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. The attraction is over all very clean and well laid out. You can see everything in a few hours but if you have more time to enjoy the place, even better. The animals are healthy and appear active and content. The... More

Wonderful display of local sea animals. Nice stories about Bay area bridges and tunnels as well as Virginia coal industry. Pay special attention to turtles on hand. The 3D Nat Geo Theater is also impressive.

We took our two children (ages 12 & 14) there and had a blast. The aquarium was great, the employees were so knowledgeable and helpful, and the animals were very entertaining. Several hands-on areas helped keep the kids occupied too. The ropes course is kind of expensive, so we didn't explore that area, but did walk through it. The otters... More
