This was a very interesting spot. It is quite small but quite a bit of information about Washington's time in Winchester was provided. The young woman at the desk was very helpful in answering our questions. It was definitely worth a visit. I recommend the...More

Certainly this was an interesting "side-visit" while in Winchester but by virtue of it's size/very nature the location did not have a lot to offer.

This isn't a very long tour as tours go. It can be combined with the Stonewall Jackson tour though. George Washingtons early surveying is covered as well as the history of Winchester during the French and Indian war. The lady that gave us tour was...More

If I was taught about the French and Indian war in school, I clearly wasn't listening. Thankfully, visiting George Washington's office gave me a good background on the war. It was the event that proved Washington would become a great military man. The museum is...More

We were visiting downtown Winchester and happened upon this by chance. It's a museum and is interesting. Would have been nice to also have some recreations of what the office might have looked like when Washington was there. Also the small diorama type display of...More

We decided to pay the entrance fee of $3.75 and found we should have just photographed the building from outside. There's a diorama depicting old Winchester and Fort Loudon, lots of wording on the walls explaining the French-Indian war. It's a very small room with...More

Very interesting tour, not too long and not rushed through either. Great deal to get a ticket for $10.00 to cover 3 tours in the area. Ticket good for one year. Very educational, but not boring at all!

This small museum is in the actual building that served as Washington's office. The exhibits are adequate to tell his story during that chapter of his life. There are no guided tours.

I did not go inside. Just stopped by to see the outside of the building, read the signs, sit in the courtyard, and appreciate the history. Great little spot on a busy corner. Worth a visit.
