I rode this trail on a mountain bike on a wet day in November and it is far from urban. It's a meandering trail through the forest at the base of Chuckanut. You can see across the bay to the islands.

The trail provides great views of the ocean and islands - as well as the city. It is well maintained and fairly easy to walk.

Yesterday we went for a bike ride from the center of Bellingham, where you can access the Interurban trail, to Old Samish Way over look and back but the trail and its connecting trail system will take you much further! You can go all the way to Larrabee State Park 5.5 miles one way. This is an old railroad bed... More

This trail is long so you can walk a long way or a short way and turn around. This trail is very wide and well groomed and has many spots that you can get on or off. We want to take our bikes next time we go so we can do the entire trail from beginning to end and back... More

Trail has always been a favorite. Very popular with the locals. Love taking it to Larrabee State Park.

Well marked trail, wide in most parts. Beautiful and varied scenery, a lot of it in good shade. Free, and plenty of parking at various places along the trail.

I mostly ride on it, but it's beautiful even in the rain. If you are headed north you end up in Fairhaven, a perfect place to pause and enjoy a beer.

These trails are of all different angles and I walk my dog on these going along Fairhaven. Great. Trees, birds, wraps around through the woods going past the Padden Creek, nice exercise and reflecting as well.

This is a very pleasant wooded trail a short distance from Fairhaven. The trail offers several short walks through lush forest and ends with beautiful views of Bellingham Bay. There are several stretches of paths that would be difficult for people with physical limitations but for the average person nothing out of the ordinary.
