Cool Old Theatre

A beautiful old theater with pretty good acoustics...they often get big-name performers on their way between Seattle and Vancouver.

What a great piece of Bellingham history! Our docent was very informative. This theater opened in 1927. The ceilings in the main hallway are magnificent! They are not wood but plaster expertly painted using feathers. The theme as you enter is of a Captain's quarters aboard a Spanish vessel. The chandeliers and lighting in the main theater are beautifully done!... More

I have seen some rock artists , and some ballets ( nutcracker ) but never a movie - it is a gorgeous restored movie palace - the wood work and decor is amazing from a lost era

This beautifully restored theatre built in 1927 in an Art Deco/Moorish/Iberian vein, was designed by Robert Reamer who also designed the 5th Ave Theater in Seattle. A 1500 plus seat old movie house theater venue, restored, upgraded, and made ready for the 21st century in grand fashion. A bigger stage was added around 2006 to accommodate bigger productions, along with... More

A local ballet company was performing, but the advertisement for the ballet didn't mention that it was amateur. I went with completely wrong expectations. We basically watched a group of people do the same 20 or so ballet moves for 1.5 hours. The show was too long for anyone except family members to enjoy. I would have enjoyed it much... More

We went to see Patti Lupone who is touring her one-woman show. I was happy to see the show, but am always happy to have an excuse to be in this wonderful, historic theatre. The online ticket process was simple and the tickets were mailed to us promptly. The seats are comfortable; acoustics are good. Bellingham is a small city,... More

We recently attended a performance by Patti Lupine at the Mt Baker Theatre. The histoic building has wonderful ambience, and the performance was excellent! We are so lucky to have terrific performances in a smallish town like Bellingham n

We saw Elvis Costello and loved both his show and the venue. The place is very well-preserved and fun to visit.

Whether you are a theater veteran and buy season passes or have never seen a live show, you're in for a special treat at the Mt. Baker Theater. Decorated to look like a theater from the golden era, this venue has excellent seats throughout and impressive acoustics. I have seen comedians, musicals and benefits in the main theater and have...
