The trip is enjoyable and not terribly scenic. It is simply a steam train ride. Children are thrilled and we take our grand kids once a year just to watch them enjoy it. Go on a day that you can ride in one of the open cars and you will enjoy the trip much more though you will get a... More

The steam train ride was a really fun experience and great for parents with small children. The steam train offers a concession stand and a view of the land from Chehalis to Adna. My kids were given souvenir train pennants to take home. Prior to boarding the train, there is a small museum and gift shop. I believe people can... More

Four of us travelled from Victoria BC, Canada to Chehalis to ride that steam train! It's our 3rd steam train ride (others in BC,) in 3 years. This was more quaint than Kettle Creek Valley or Port Alberni but they were super friendly and it was well worth the trip! The best part about it was that we could arrange... More

We were given a gift certificate for the mystery train ride. It was interesting and ok to do one time, but the food was not particularly good, and although wine was advertised as something one could purchase, there was none available when we asked. We were thinking this was one of those mystery games, where everyone might be a suspect,... More

This was a reasonably priced 14 mile ride behind an authentic steam locomotive. The leisurely ride took us through farms and forests along a former Milwaukee RR line. It tokk about an hour and a half. The crew was friendly and helpful. Be sure to ride in the open gondola behind the locomotive.

Visited the train on our way from Columbia River to Seattle. Pleasant surprise and enjoyable ride and staff. I would say it is more of a "living museum" in terms of riding the train and speaking with the staff than any extensive exhibits or artifacts. If ever in the area again, would certainly revisit.

Mother's Day train ride, 1920's dining car, cute station with benches and a few items to buy (hats, postcards), friendly as your grandma, steam train, little rocking, but not much, toot toot, mostly quiet inside. Our dining experience rocked. Fruit plate, OJ, water, Coffee, cookies, then steak with scrambled eggs, a crepe, potatoes, (all cooked right and yummy), mimosas if... More

Dog gone it, the museum and train have been out of service all summer so far. Per Federal requirements, steam locomotives require a boiler rebuild ever so often to protect the engineer, fireman, and passengers from catastrophic boiler explosions. Well, this is the year that the locomotive #15 had to be done. From what I have gathered from local news... More

This historic train station is now a museum. Located in downtown Chehalis, it is not far from the freeway and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. It also includes Native American history of the Chehalis Tribe.
