I have been whale watching many times, but never to see orcas. We saw 4 and stayed with them for the entire trip. The naturalists on board were knowledgeable, approachable and fun. I would recommend this organization.

I wouldn't, but since you are from Florida you might want to layer with thin windbreaker and/or long sleeve shirt that can be removed as you warm up especially if you are starting early in morning.

We left the dock at 10 and they picked us up on the island at 3.

There are no buses but if you are just going for the day there is a cab service. It is not walkable from the ferry.
