We were so surprised at the beautiful trails at Fort Townsend state park. It is like a rain forest there. Fabulous! Easy too.

This is not like Fort Worden or Fort Flagler, there aren't lots of bunkers to explore all over the place. However, there are some very nice hiking trails (easy hikes), and some cool old relic buildings left over from it's fort days. Easy path down...More

Our hiking club traversed the trails throughout the park—along the beach, up and down hills, and through the forest. Rich plant life and well marked trails enable hikers to stay on course. Ruins of the old fort add interest and markers detail its history. We...More

Great hiking and picnicking. Go into the forest as well as the waterside area. Relaxing. Can’t speak for camping as we were on a road trip. The closest we came to camping was the Hampton Inn. Our days of RVing are over. Been there, done...More

The only remnants I could find, and confirmed by the staff here, was where the Group Campground is. One building among the picnic tables. Had something to do with Xray/Torpedos??

We were very surprised at the beauty and quality of the trail system in this wooded park. Excellent trail map. The trails are well marked. Old forest, ferns, occasional water view, no strenuous hills. Buy a Discover pass and get in all Washington State Parks...More

We just spent two nights here and really enjoyed our site. There are a few very small campsites but the guy who booked us knew that the pull through sites were larger, which we had #7. Some sites near the restrooms had a definite fowl...More

Yes, he will be able to use the campsite, take the nature walk and enjoy the large picnic area. I bet the scooter can take him down to the beach (which has nice views of PT, islands, and lots of shells.
