Well, yet another of my semi reluctant visits to the favourite place for the males in our family to fish Lake Lenore. I have never quite understood their attraction to Soap Lake, not being a fisherman myself. The drive eastward over the mountains is long...More

Enjoyed an hour just floating in this incredible place. Wish the bathrooms had been opened. Only had portable toilets which appeared not have been cleaned since Labor Day. :(

We went for a soak in Soap lake and basically had the place to ourselves. It is extremely alkaline so you float with very little effort. It was very nice to just lay back and take a soak in the cool but not cold water....More

A nice spot for a beach picnic. Play ground. Bathrooms are clean, small and bare bones. A concession stand was open. We happened by for a free Music festival so a few more food options were available. Historically a healing lake, smear the mud on,...More

Stopped by on our way to Grand Coulee Dam. Interesting history regarding why the lake has a soapy feel and the mineral content of the mud.

don't expect razzle dazzle or a built up tourist destination, but do love the beauty and uniqueness of the place. Is the beach less beautiful than a white sand beach of hawaii, yes. Does the sand/thin mud bottom of the lake smell like sulfur if...More

One of a kind place. The views are completely amazing and unlike anything I've seen in all my travels. Dry falls dropping off into Soap Lake. Excellent driving tour. We saw a mule deer. Gorgeous scenery.

There are a number of motels along the shoreline with easy access to the lovely waters of Soap Lake. There are rv camp grounds (at least two I can think of) and the motels are withing walking distance of downtown shopping... More
